ULTRASOUND SERVICES
Ultrasound produces sound waves that are beamed into the body causing return echoes that are recorded to "visualize" structures beneath the skin. The ability to measure different echoes reflected from a variety of tissues allows a shadow picture to be constructed. Heart disease, stroke, abnormalities of the reproductive system and abdomen, and other conditions can be detected through the use of this high-frequency sound wave system. Whether you’re getting a first glimpse of your developing baby or assessing a breast mass found by mammography, your doctors can use this safe, non-invasive method to gain advanced insight into your health.
Lourdes' Ultrasound Department is accredited by the American College of Radiology (ACR).
