Make Life Easier: In the Bathroom
If you have trouble getting around, or if you’re caring for someone who does, taking a bath or shower can be a challenge. Is your bathroom set up to give you as much help as possible? Here are a few items that can make things easier:
Hand-held shower heads: These allow you to sit down while you’re in the shower. They come with long hoses, and are great for rinsing off.
Built-in bathtub benches. Sometimes it’s too difficult to stand up at all, or to stand up for the duration of your shower. A bench is invaluable if this is the case. It’s also helpful if you’re recovering from an injury or operation.
Grab bars: These help you get in and out of the shower or bath, or to stand after using the toilet.
Don’t put off looking into these things. They can make a big difference in your quality of life and give you—and your loved ones—peace of mind.
