Spicy Southern Barbecue Chicken

Use this recipe for your Labor Day picnic or family reunion.

Ingredients 
3 pounds chicken parts (breast, drumstick, thigh), skin and fat removed
1 large onion, thinly sliced
3 tablespoons vinegar
3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce 2 tablespoons brown sugar black pepper to taste
1 tablespoon hot pepper flakes
2 tablespoons chili powder
1 cup chicken stock or broth, fat skimmed from top

Directions

  1. Place chicken in 13x9x2-inch pan. Arrange sliced onions over the top. 
  2. Mix together vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, pepper, hot pepper flakes, chili powder and stock.
  3. Pour over the chicken and bake at 350 F. for one hour or until done. 
  4. Baste occasionally, spooning the juices over the chicken.

 

Makes 8 servings. (One chicken piece with sauce equals a serving.)
