Spicy Southern Barbecue Chicken
|
Use this recipe for your Labor Day picnic or family reunion.
Ingredients
3 pounds chicken parts (breast, drumstick, thigh), skin and fat removed
1 large onion, thinly sliced
3 tablespoons vinegar
3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons brown sugar black pepper to taste
1 tablespoon hot pepper flakes
2 tablespoons chili powder
1 cup chicken stock or broth, fat skimmed from top
Directions
- Place chicken in 13x9x2-inch pan. Arrange sliced onions over the top.
- Mix together vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, pepper, hot pepper flakes, chili powder and stock.
- Pour over the chicken and bake at 350 F. for one hour or until done.
- Baste occasionally, spooning the juices over the chicken.
Makes 8 servings. (One chicken piece with sauce equals a serving.)
